My Room
When I once registered for my degree here in Bonn, I was immediately informed to go to the Student Housing Centre to get myself a room. I was quite nervous because I was in a transitional phase. However, I went through the process quite smoothly. I guess it was because of August. In Germany, the summer break starts in mid-July. Therefore, I would assume that students in the final year would have left their respective rooms in July.
Anyway, enough assumptions. Here is how my room looked like sometime in August 2006:
Now after entering my final month in Bonn, here is how my room looks like in August 2009,
(please note that some stuff have been shipped away to Berlin, therefore it looks "cleaner" than it normally is):

It's quite a hassle and I have no idea what is going to happen in the coming weeks, but I would like to be grateful of the fact that I was given the opportunity to live in isolation from other Bruneians. It's really an eye-opener. You have to try it yourself.

Writing Again
Hello fellow readers,
It's been exactly 5 months. Not really that big a deal since I am quite the procastinator in terms of blogging. Anyway, I've decided to re-organise my thoughts as well as use the remaining time to write in order to remove any hunger pangs that I should be sustaining a few hours before break.
If you are well-informed, I shall be ending my studies in Germany soon. Although it's too early to say, but I do hope all goes well for these last 2 papers. I can't afford to repeat a semester. In the future posts, I shall be sharing to you readers some pictures of my time as a student in Germany. Some of my visual memories are quite interesting and I should say I was fond of them. Some.. shouldn't be remembered for emotional reasons.
Alright then, I do hope I write meaningful posts.

Beakman's World
Hello fellow readers,
I was thinking about my past. I wonder why I was so interested in Science even though I think I excel better in Commerce or Accounting. Olevel I got both Biology and Accounting A1 but that is due to studying. Not because of interest.
Then it hit me. During the mid-90s we had a show during Friday afternoons (around 4 or 5pm) that is hosted by a wacky scientist. I miss those wacky shows. Fortunately YouTube caters everyone's needs.

Hello fellow readers,
Today's post is a videopost. It's a video that has been in my laptop for probably 2 years. I came across it today.
sooo... my house is situated strategically in the inner city. Well I used to jog to school and back then get ready to get DRIVEN to school after that. Anyway, the post is about a snake that ate a cat and was found sleeping in the cat's cage. I think this video was in 2006 or 2007 I don't remember. What I do remember is that the cat that got eaten was still alive BEFORE I flew to Germany. It's a pity really. I don't wanna die eaten by any reptile.
My uncle is the one taking the video. My dad is the uncouth, spitting, typical over-50-year-old man (you can sense from his voice), my mum is there telling the kids that snakes come over if you don't take a bath, my grandma talking about hocus-pocus (There ISN'T anything else to talk about), my aunt is there, her daughter is also there and of course being led to believe the snake is there because she didn't take a bath. Well I would believe my mum as well, the cat wasn't given a typical once-a-day bath. Basically, everyone living in the house is there.

Enjoy a rare night of snake-hunting in GADONG! LoL!!

Bloc Party in Cologne (aka Köln)
Hello fellow readers,
On the 17th of February, I went to a concert with a couple of friends from Uni. This is the first concert I went to where I didn't know half of the songs. But the concert was cool. But this time I went to the 1st floor standing area because I didn't want to join the mosh pit.
Here's some videos I took:
Super Fun!!
....
Next up is The Killers (^^)

Books that I have read
hello fellow readers,
Another 3/4 till I write on a regular 1-week-basis. Or maybe 2-weeks-basis.
Anyway, here are some of the books I have read throughout my 4 years overseas. That's probably 90% of them. Another 10% came from libraries. Not that much for 4 years.. I know..

Snow in Bonn
Hello fellow readers,
I would like to share some pictures of settled snow during the early hours of the 5th of January 2009. It is (for this town) the deepest ever for the past 10-11 years.
I asked a couple of geography students about it, however they explained in German so I can't recall everything they told me. Just that it's rare to have ankle deep snow in Bonn. The most I experienced was south of Germany (Heidelberg - my first town where I lived in) which was about 10cm-below-the-knees deep.
The thing about settled snow is that it's virgin territory. Very pretty and enchanting. After a few hours it'll be dirty due to boots walking on them and the melting phase which makes the area muddy.
Not a pretty sight anymore..
